Marshall Mathers III, Also known as Eminem is one of the greatest rappers in all time, was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. Raised by a single mom growing up in Detroit, Michigan from about age 10. Had a tough life growing always getting picked on and beat up at school. Found rapping a beautiful thing during his teenager years as a wonderful way to express himself. As he was getting to that rapper life style he found problems with drugs later in life. As he was growing up in Detroit, he was starting to make a name for himself by constantly being in rap battles. As the 90's went by, he learned that this was going to be his career in life proving to everybody else that you can grab ahold of your dreams by chasing after them and setting you mind to it. After debuting his first album Infinite under his first label Bass Bothers in 1996 and later he released Slim Shady EP in 1997. After not being a huge hit with only hundreds sold he later placed 2nd in the Olympic Rap Battle's in 1997. Right after, Dr. Dre of Interscope records contacted Marshall and later signed him in 1998 to Interscope Records. In 1998 he released his 1st major studio album. It went on to be one of the most popular albums of 1999, going triple platinum by the end of the year. After making a huge debut, he later released his 2nd major studio album in May of 2000 called The Marshall Mathers LP which sold 1.76 Million copies in the first week. In 2002 he released his 3rd major studio album called The Eminem Show selling just over 1 million copies in the first week. Again In 2002 he released his Award winning movie 8 mile mostly based on his life growing up on the streets of Detroit. In 2004 he released his fourth studio album, Encore which was another chart topper. In 2009 he released his fifth and sixth studio album titled Relapse and Relapse : Refill, although it didn’t sell as much as his previous albums both albums still made it on the charts for one of the best albums of 2009. In 2010 he released his seventh studio album titled Recovery. Recovery sold 741,000 in the first week to land atop Billboard 200.
